Dr. Walter Valdez Muñoz

Main Founding Partner of our law firm, Mr. Walter Valdez is one of the first lawyers specialized in Environmental Topics in our country.

Graduated at Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP) Law School on 1990, Mr Valdez has also studied a Master on International Law and took post graduate studies on Social Management at the same University.
For twenty years, Walter Valdez was partner and Director in PROTERRA, Non Governmental Organization dedicated to Environmental Issues. On 1993, Mr. Valdez granted an AECI scholarship for the course “Natural Spaces Management”.  He also has been designed as Board Member at Fondo de las Amèricas and Red Ambiental Peruana.

Currently, among his work as Law Firm partner, he dedicates to counsel and being Board Member of different mining and energy companies.

Mr. Walter Valdez is member of the Latin-American Environmental Law Association – ALDA, the Environmental Law Commission of the Nature World Union – UICN and the Environmental Law Alliance World – ELAW. Ex member of the Environmental and Natural Resources Commission – Lima BAR Association.

He also has been Assistant Professor of Environmental Law and Social Projects on PUCP Law School. It’s also author of numerous articles and works in domestic publications and has participated in local and international congresses on environmental and mining.
